On Sept. 1, Swain County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest of a Bryson City man charging him with 10 felony charges for allegedly taking liberties with a child and raping the child.
Willie Cross Rickey, of 315 Linda Lane, was charged with the following felony charges: five counts statutory rape of a child less than 15 years old and five counts indecent liberties with a child less than 15 years old.
The offenses were reported Aug. 28, according to the warrant for arrest filed at the Swain County Clerk of Courts Office.
He is currently still in jail in Swain County under a secured bond of $770,000. No further information regarding the details of the case are available at this time.
