Glenda Ann Robertson Cochran entered her Heavenly Home on September 24, 2021 to be with her Loving Savior, Jesus Christ and many family members and friends.

Ann was born in Murphy, NC on July 10, 1946 to Rev Jesse and Nora Ivester Robertson. Besides her father and mother, she was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Charles, Rev. Erois, John D., Quintin, Hayse, and Max Robertson; 2 sisters, Gladys Hogsed and Vena Beaver, also 1 niece Tresa Hogsed Hiers and 1 nephew, Stanley Robertson.

Ann is survived by her husband and love of her life, Varnol Ray Cochran and one precious son, Trevor Ray Cochran. Her love for Varnol and Trevor was exceeded only by her love for God.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews; 2 brothers-in-law, Raymond and wife Bonnie Cochran and Mike and wife Cindy Cochran and Lloyd Beaver. In addition to these relatives, she is survived by three close friends Becky Rogers, Shauna Plemmons, and Lucilla Ollis.

Ann retired from Swain County School System where she loved the children and staff she worked with each day.

Ann grew up in Notla Baptist Church where she became a member and worker in Sunday School, Bible School, etc.

When she married Varnol, she joined Victory Baptist Church and became a faithful worker in all the youth programs. She then joined Harmony Baptist Church. Until she became disabled, she has attended Deep Creek Baptist Church.

Wherever she went, Ann’s love for children was her strongest attribute.

Ann’s hobbies included cooking, making decoration flowers for cemeteries, and reading.

A graveside service was held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Brendle Hill Cemetery. Revs. Mike Cogdill and Steve Sneed officiated. James and Leeann Shuler sang.

Pallbearers were Nathan Tanner, Stanley Arvey, Roger Jones, George Oliver, Willie Owle, and Dan Trehern.
