Karen Faye Jones, age 53, of Bryson City, NC passed away August 12th, 2021 at the John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her father, Augustus W. Jones. Survivors include her mother Mildred (Jean) Braddock Jones, her loving sons Dylan Hunter Jones, Dixon Tucker Brand, and Dawson Augustus Brand, her sister, Sherry Jones, her brother Garry Jones, her aunt Linda Brazell, 2 nieces, a nephew, and many cousins.
Karen was born in Jacksonville, Fl. and grew up in Yulee, Fl. attending school in Yulee and Fernandina Beach, then her senior year at West Nassau where she graduated.
She then attended FCCJ to become an LPN. She worked in Dr.’s offices and nursing homes for several years in NE FL and SE GA before moving to Bryson City, NC in 2002, where she continued nursing for many years. She was compassionate and a good listener, beloved by the people she cared for.
Karen had many interests in her life, but her greatest passion was fishing the lakes, rivers, and creeks of Western North Carolina with her companion, Steve Mintz.
A private service for her family will be held at a later date. A memorial contribution may be made to a charity of your choosing, or a hospice care center in your area.
