Kristin Nanciann Martin, 76 of Whittier, passed away on April 17, 2021. Mrs. Martin was born on January 3, 1945 in Eden, North Carolina, to the late Reverend Deemus and Gladys Pulliam.
After graduating Swain County High School she attended Oakland University and pursued several interests. She obtained her nail technician license, her real estate license and her appraisal license. She worked as a transcriptionist at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital and then later was the chief administrator of Pontiac Federal Credit Union.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Victory Baptist Church where she played the piano.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Edgar Hugh Martin. In addition, she is survived by two daughters, Tina Papineau (Terry) and Lisa Martin (Claudine Goldsmith); one son, Michael Martin (Viola); three grandchildren, Terry Papineau, Olivia Hunsucker (Mitch), and Ellen Burns (Brennen); on great grandchild, Jack Hunsucker; one sister, Naomi Cole; and seven brothers Robert, Richard, Melvin, Deemus, Mac, Charles, and Johnny Pulliam.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister Rachel and two brothers Bill and Sam.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 2:00pm at Victory Baptist Church. Brian Schuler officiated. Burial followed at Campground Cemetery. The family received friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, one hour prior to the service. Crisp Funeral Home assisted the Martin family with arrangements.
