Mozelle Sitton, a lifelong resident of Bryson City, North Carolina died unexpectedly on February 10th, 2020. Mozelle is survived by her daughter Tammy Sitton McLean and husband Kenny. Two grandsons Kort and Cash McLean. Nieces Joanie Weeks (Robbie) and Ruth Ann Sitton. Nephews   Glenn, Mike (Cindy), Donald and Freddy (Kim) Weeks. Great nephews, that were more like her grandchildren, Brian Simmons (Crystal), Nolan McIntosh (Shealeen&Waylon), Zachary Weeks, Michael Weeks, and Jed Weeks. Great nieces, Alisha Thomas (Phil),  Justine Weeks and Jewell Weeks.

She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Phobe Sitton. Brothers Roy, Stanley, Odis Sitton and one sister Dot Weeks.

Mozelle was born in Bryson City, N.C. on February 12, 1940. Mozelle graduated from Swain County High School and earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Western Carolina University. She retired as the director of the Four Square Head Start Program where she worked for over 40 years. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, but her true joy came from her love for her daughter and two grandsons.

Mozelle attended Holly Springs Baptist Church until her health no longer permitted her to attend. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, co-workers, and all who knew her.

A celebration of life service and visitation was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City, N.C. Visitation with the family began at 1:00 p.m.

Tommy Cooper, Nolan McIntosh, Kenny McLean, Brian Simmons, Robbie Simmons, and Zachary Weeks served as pallbearers.

Pastor John Tagliarini officiated the service with interment that followed at the Holly Springs Cemetery in Bryson City, N.C.

Special music was presented by Alisha Thomas.
