Raymond Ernest “Ernie” Grant, age 54, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Ernie was a larger-than-life, fun character and was indeed one-of-a-kind! He had deep insight into many topics and was a wonderful person to rely on for great advice. Ernie was employed at Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee where he made many friendships. Ernie loved to coach and play softball, but above all else, he truly loved being a Papa and spending time with his son, Brad, and his family. He was a great man who touched our lives and his memory will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his son, Bradley Baines with wife Rachael of Bryson City; grandsons, Cameron, Baines, Cyle Ponchot, Chandler Baines, and Coby Baines; sister, Maria Wolfe; brother, Michael Grant; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In honoring Ernie wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
