Roger Parris, 66, of Bryson City went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2021. He was born to the late John Parris and Lois Chambers who survives him.

He was born and grew up in the Brush Creek Community.  Roger as a faithful member of Cold Springs Baptist Church for many years.  He was a resident at Mountain View Manor where he was a member of the Mountain View Ramblers.  He was a talented musician and played several instruments including the banjo and guitar.

In addition to his mother, he is survived two aunts, Lexie Millsaps and Betty Kirkland and one uncle, Grover Kirkland.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a special Aunt Mizie Parris and a cousin, Wilma Parris.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 30 at 2 p.m. at Cold Springs Baptist Church with Pastors Earl King and Lewis Crisp officiating. Burial followed at Lauada Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the Parris family with arrangements.
