On Tuesday evening, the Swain High School softball team played a home game against the Cherokee Lady Braves, which resulted in a 18-5 loss for the Devils.

In the first inning, Swain got two runs to Cherokee’s one, followed by two innings of no scores for either team. In the 4th inning Cherokee got two runs, followed by 15 runs in the fifth inning alone. Swain got three runs in the 5th inning but lost the game 18-5.

Maddie Spates, Hannah Shuler and Haileigh Woodard had two hits for the game, while Kiersten Smith, Savana Smith, and Kandyce Crisp had one. Woodard and Spates had two runs, while Smith had one.

The Lady Devils softball team’s next game will be Friday at Cherokee.
