The Swain County High Maroon Devils golf team finished with 228 points at their game at Smoky Mountain Country Club in Whittier on Tuesday, placing them third in a game against three other teams.
They lost to the Robbinsville Black Knights, who won with 189, and the Highlands Highlanders with 215.
Coming in fourth were the Andrews Wildcats with 232 points.
“This is a young team with a lot of potential to place high in the conference tournament in April,” said Coach Josh Crisp. “I am proud of their effort, and I look forward to continuing to watch them grow in their golf game.”
Swain’s top golfer this game was Braylon Aldridge, who finished with a 52. Wyatt Potts followed him with 56, and behind them was Landon Harrison, with 59, and Lucas Sutton with 61. And Jaden Wade finished with 62 points.
The next golf game will be Tuesday, March 14, at Sequoyah National at 3:30 p.m.
