Swain County High School is proud to announce that we have hired Sherman Holt as the next head football coach at Swain. Originally Coach Holt is from Leicester, where he graduated from Erwin High School. Coach Holt has spent the last three years as Offensive Coordinator at Tuscola High School. He played football collegiately at Appalachian State University, where teams he was a member of won four consecutive conference championships and Holt was a part of the third National Championship at ASU. Coach Holt and his wife Telia have three children Riley, Bentley, and Abby Mae.

The potential of our kids here at Swain is very exciting. I had the opportunity to meet our team today and our message moving forward is we will be about hard work, high character, and community pride. I want to thank the folks at Tuscola for the opportunities they have given me and for the way they embraced our family.
