Three file for Bryson City town board

Filing for the 2021 municipal election for Bryson City Town Board of Aldermen closed Friday afternoon, with three people filing.

Two seats are up on the town board. The seats are currently held by Ben King and Janine Crisp.

King has filed for re-election. Newcomers John Mark Gallagher and Steven Augustine have also filed to run for one of the seats.

Bryson City Board of Aldermen administers the affairs of the town, such as approving the annual government budget. Bryson City also operates its own water and sewer, which the board oversees. Meetings are held regularly on the first Monday of the month at Town Hall and are open to the public.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2. For questions, call the local board of elections office by dialing 488-6177.
