With efforts at the state legislature continuing that would broaden in-person attendance for sixth-12th grade, Swain County Board of Education wants the district to be ready to adapt to yet another change in the 2020-2021 school year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Positive COVID-19 cases on the decline, vaccines still limited

Positive cases of COVID-19 have dropped drastically across the United States this month. In North Carolina, the daily percent positive is at 7.4% with 1,988 newly reported cases by noon Tuesday. Statewide, there have been 10,562 deaths attributed to the virus.
