Roy Lee Ball of Whittier died December 22, 2016 at Mountain View Manor.

Born at Ball Town on June 17, 1925 to the late parents Jude and Ida Lane Ball. He was also preceded in death by his wife Pauline Curtis Ball, two brothers and two sisters.

He was a loving husband, father, and Pa. He was a carpenter and built many buildings and houses in this area. He retired from Buncombe Construction with over 20 years work. He loved to make gardens and give his vegetables away to family and friends. He was the oldest member and deacon of Hyatt’s Chapel Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy for 2 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Ann Ball and Margaret B. Tolley (Doc), of Whittier, and two sons Ken Ball (Carol Anne) of Highlands, Joe Ball (Juanita) of Candler; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and one sister Minnie Bartlett (Roy) of Swannoa.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2016 at Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Webb will officiate with burial in the Ball Family Cemetery in Ball Town.

Family received friends from noon until 2 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Funeral Home.
