Aaron Bennie Robinson
Aaron Bennie Robinson, 89, of Bryson City passed away August 27 at Blue Ridge on the Mountain nursing facility. He was born in Haywood County but lived most of his life in Swain County. He was a veteran in W W II, a Mason and a member of the United Construction Workers Union. He was known for his skills as a “Master Blaster” and worked in many places throughout the country before settling into a job with Swain County Maintenance for which he worked until his retirement. He was a dedicated Democrat and worked many of the elections. He also was a big fan of Swain County football and the LA Dodgers.
He is preceded in death by Garner Goodson Robinson, his wife of 64 years, brothers and sisters Eunice Skidmore, B.K. Robinson, Francis Bates, and Bobby Robinson.
He is survived by his sister Nettie Oliver of California, his daughters and family members, Cherie Robinson and John Forker of Connecticut, Byna & Gary Ayers of Waynesville, Audrey & Steve Gaddis of Bryson City, Lynn English of Asheville, Renee Robinson of Bryson City; grandchildren Angel Prince, Jon Forker, Ben Ayers, Christy Rice, Alexandria Janik; Step grandchildren Samantha Denson, Amy Allen, Josh Gaddis; great grandchildren William, Andrew, Caroline, and Anela; step-great grandchildren Tanner & Ryan Allen, Hannah Gaddis.
Arrangements are being determined and will be announced when finalized. The family would like for those who would like to honor his memory to consider donating to the Robbie Robinson Scholarship Fund at Southwestern Community College Foundation in lieu of flowers.
