Claudia Patterson Johnson
Claudia Patterson Johnson, born 11/11/1946 in Bryson City, NC, passed away on December 22, 2017 from complications from cancer treatment.
She was the elder daughter of Francis Claude and Viola Patterson and sister to Sarah P. Wilson of Monroe, GA.
Claudia graduated as Salutatorian of her undergraduate class at UNC-Greensboro and obtained a Master’s Degree in Microbiology from N.C. State. It was there where she met her husband of 47 years, Lewis M. Johnson.
Claudia and Lew lived in Hartsville, S.C. but settled in Arlington, Texas three years after the birth of their first son, Sean David, in 1979.
Claudia took a job at Irving Medical Center as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and continued working there and later in the Baylor hospital system after the birth of her second son, Andrew Wesley, in 1985.
She is also survived by Sean’s two daughters, Maggie (5) and Amelia (2), as well as Sean’s wife, Annemarie.
Claudia was an active member in First Presbyterian Church of Arlington, where she was an Elder as well as the Arlington Women’s Club.
A memorial service was held at their church on 12/28/2017.
