Eva loved to crochet, tending to her flowers and listening to country music. She collected dolls and figurines and loved to travel. Hospitality, visiting with family and friends were her “thing.” Her door was always open to one and all. She never complained and when asked how she was, even at 95, she would jokingly say, “Shucks- I’m no good.” Her family adored her and she will be deeply missed.
The funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Dayton officiating. The family received friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory.
The family wants to offer their deepest gratitude to the staff of Catawba Regional Hospice for their loving care and requests that memorial contributions be made to them at 3975 Robinson Rd. Newton, NC 28658.
