Jean Conley Heffner
Jean Conley Heffner, age 97 of Bryson City, passed away peacefully at her home on November 16th.
Born in Andrews, NC, Mrs. Heffner was preceded in death by her parents, Wymer and Catherine Batten Conley, her brother, Hall Conley of Marietta, GA, and her husband, Jake Sherrell (Bob) Heffner.
A former teacher at Bryson City Elementary School, Mrs. Heffner was an active member of Bryson City Methodist Church.
Survivors are her children, Bruce Edwards of Ithaca, NY, Judy Heffner Hipps (Barry) of Bryson City, and Mike Heffner (Sharon Ensley) of Lexington, NC. She is also survived by her three granddaughters: Sun Edwards (Lloyd) of Wilseyville, NY; Kari Manley (Zach) of Leicester, NC; and Alex Heffner Conrad (David) of Charleston, SC. Her great grandchildren are Zayin Edwards, Harlyn Manley, and Scarlett Conrad.
Visitation was Friday, November 18th from 5 – 7 pm at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City. Funeral services were at Crisp Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 19th with Reverend Wayne Dickert officiating. Burial was in Bryson City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Conrad, Jamie Fisher, Mark Halstead, Barry Hipps, Zach Manley and Sam Pattillo.
