William Jack Duvall
BROOKWOOD, AL – William Jack Duvall, age 73, (formerly of Bryson City, North Carolina) of Brookwood, Ala., died September 10, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Hawkins Duvall; granddaughter, Ashley Nychole Wade; sister, Betty Jo Calhoun; and parents, Alcie Frisby and William Perry Duvall.
Survivors include his daughters, Michele Battles (Harold) of Alabama, and Beth Burleson (Brian) of Pennsylvania, a son, Brian Duvall of Alabama; sister, Linda Hicks (Hubert) of Bryson City, North Carolina; grandchildren, Holley Haynes (Michael), Vicki Wade (Jarrod Hunt), Damon Green (Carrie), William Duvall, Morgan Jordan and Justin, Autumn and Sean Burleson; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Ansleigh, Cloey, Ethan, River, Jaden, Jack, Farrah, Raven, Brystal, Laura Beth, Anna Kate and Natalee.
He served six years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged.Honorary pallbearers are the staff at the V. A. Hospital, Tuscaloosa County employees, miners at #5 Jim Walter Mine, Linda Herren, Johnny and Barbara Herren and Clayton Parton.
Services were held Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial followed in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
