Devils use home advantage for win over Highlanders, drop game to Wildcats

Swain used a 18-8 run in the opening of the second half to blow open a close game and cruise to a 72-55 win, in their home opener last Friday, over Highlands.  The largest Maroon Devil lead had been 6 in the first half, but the third quarter was the difference maker.

Senior Zeke Bradley filled up the stat sheet in leading the Devils.  Bradley finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds 6 assists 2 steals and 3 blocked shots.  Gaige Southards scored 14 points, while Jesse Waldroup finished with 13 points and 4 steals.

The Devils winning streak hit a bump in the road when the team traveled to Andrews on Tuesday. The teams were closely matched, going point for point throughout the defensive game. The Devils were just down a by 1 point at the half, 26-25. The Wildcats kept up the advantage through the second half, grabbing the win 63-53. 

The Devils will host Cherokee on Friday.
