Lady Devils fall to Lady Yellowjackets
The Swain County Lady Maroon Devils came away with a 58-45 loss against Hayesville on Tuesday night in an away game. In a close game at the half, the Hayesville Lady Yellowjackets pulled away from Lady Devils in the third quarter.
Swain traveled to Cherokee on Friday, February 1. From the start, the Cherokee Braves came out with a strong offense— finding the holes in the Devils’ defense with ease and taking the advantage early on, with 24 points to the Devils’ 9 in the first quarter. The Braves continued the offensive attack, scoring 21 in the second quarter and 25 in the third with the final score 82-49.
The Lady Devils are now 6-14 overall and 4-6 in conference.
The Lady Devils will host Murphy on Friday for Senior Night. Regular season rounds out Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Robbinsville and the Smoky Mountain Conference will be hosted by Robbinsville beginning Thursday, Feb. 14.
