An evening of celebration, connection and community pride is set to return to Bryson City next month as the Bryson City–Swain County Chamber of Commerce hosts its Annual Chamber Banquet on April 23 at the historic Fryemont Inn.
The event, widely regarded by many locals as a highlight of the social calendar, will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is expected to draw a strong turnout following last year’s successful gathering.
Chamber President Monica Brown said this year’s banquet will build on that momentum with a lively program focused on what defines Swain County — a close-knit community, strong local businesses and a shared vision for the future.
Guests will enjoy a menu prepared by chefs George Brown and Sue Brown, along with opportunities for networking and fellowship in a festive setting. Live music will add to the evening’s energy.
Additional attractions include a photo booth sponsored by Foggy Moon Photography, door prizes and a silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses.
A centerpiece of the evening will be the presentation of two major awards: the Duke Award for Outstanding Citizenship and the Dennis White Business and Innovation Award, recognizing individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the community.
“Our annual membership banquet is more than just an event—it’s a meaningful opportunity for our members and the broader business community to come together, celebrate shared successes, and build new connections,” said Ricky Sanford, chamber administrative coordinator.
“Each year, this special evening sets the tone for what’s ahead, offering an uplifting, positive, and forward-looking experience that energizes and inspires our entire community for the coming season.”
Brown emphasized the importance of the gathering for the region.
“The banquet is always a special night for Bryson City and Swain County,” she said. “It’s a time to come together, celebrate our successes, and recognize the people who make this such a wonderful place to live, work and visit.”
Held at the Fryemont Inn, a longtime gathering place for residents and visitors alike, the banquet blends tradition with celebration in one of the town’s most iconic settings.
Tickets are available by emailing chamber@greatsmokies.com, and nominations for the awards can be submitted through the Chamber’s website.
The deadline for nominations is April 7.
