At the Tuesday, Jan. 16 meeting of the Marianna Black Library Board, N.C. Rep. Mike Clampitt and N.C. Senator Kevin Corbin were on hand with a “big check” for the $3.2 million they secured in the state budget for the Marianna Black Library renovation and expansion project. The expansion will include a dedicated teen area, an improved community room, small meeting rooms and more.

When the direct state funding was first announced, Ellen Snodgrass, MBL Board chairwoman Ellen Snodgrass said, “We are so grateful to Representative Clampitt and Senator Corbin and their staffs for securing this funding for the library project. A contribution of this size is a big step towards our goal to improve and expand services to the community. This is a great day for Swain County.”
