The Coalition for a Safe and Drug Free Swain County has been making gains in the past few years on educating the community about the dangers of substance abuse and its prevalence in the community. 




The Swain County High School Lady Devils Soccer team took home its second win of the season beating Mitchell High School 4-3 on Friday, March 16.  

The Swain County High School girls and boys track teams competed in their first meet of the season on Thursday, March 15, against Pisgah, Rosman, Cherokee and Highlands at Cherokee High School.

The excitement is coming back to the Swain County Recreation Center, and it’s coming March 24.


Helen Browning Reece, 95, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 6, 2018. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Etta Bradley Browning.
