Swain girls’ varsity basketball took home a win against the Blue Ridge Bobcats last Tuesday in Cashiers. The Lady Devils finished the game with an impressive 72-41 win.

Top scorers for the game were Mazie Helpman with 17 points, Savana Smith with 14, Haileigh Woodard and Kiersten Smith both with 10 points.

“Starting the season with only four players that have logged heavy varsity minutes we have gotten off to a slow start with a 2-2 record. This team is showing leadership and maturity across the board which is helping us to steadily improve game to game,” Coach Joshua Griffth said. “I am proud of the strides we have taken as a team in just our first four games, as the season progresses the Swain County Lady Devils are going to be a fun team to watch.”

Lady Devils vs. Franklin
