The Lady Devils swatted the Hayesville Yellow Jackets conference game on Dec. 21 with a 14-point win for a final score of 41-27. Highest scoring players for the game were Amaya Hicks, Mazie Helpman, and Savana Smith with 12 points each.
Swain played again two days later with a non-conference game against Smoky Mountain but they just couldn’t tame the Mustangs, losing 54-38.
The first night of the Maroon Devil Christmas Classic, Swain took on Brevard for an incredible 34-point win, 75-41. Mazie Helpman scored an awesome 26 points, followed by Arizona Blankenship and Savana Smith both with 13 and Amaya Hicks with nine points. Arizona had five assists for the night, while Amaya had four, Mazie had three, and Savana had one.
On the second day, Swain lost to Mountain Heritage 77-53, but got another win against Hiwassee Dam with a close final score of 59-53.
For the game against Hiwassee Dam, Mazie Helpman had 24 points and one assist and Amaya Hicks had 18 points and seven assists.
