Swain Maroon Devils varsity baseball team had a winning streak over three games last week.

Beginning Tuesday, March 22, the Maroon Devils baseball team took on the Hiwassee Dam Eagles at home for an impressive 10-0 shutout. For the game, Carson Taylor had two hits, Brayden Ruis, Gabe Lillard, Will Jenkins, and Carter Hayes had one each. Carson Taylor also had two runs, while Gabe Lillard, Will Jenkins, and Carter Hayes had one.

On Thursday last week, the team traveled to Sylva for a non-conference game against the Smoky Mountain Mustangs where they won 5-2.

The Mustangs started off the scoring, with two points in the first inning, but that would be the only time they got on the scoreboard that night as Swain made a comeback in the 5th inning with four runs and one in the 6th, ending the game up by three.

Gabe Lillard, Cameron Blankenship, Finley Crisp, Carson Taylor, and Carter Hayes each had one run for the game.

A day later, Swain traveled to Hiwassee Dam where they won against the Eagles a second time, this time 4-1.

In the first inning both the Devils and Eagles scored one, but Swain was full speed ahead putting three on the board in the 3rd inning, followed by no more scoring by either team.

Carson Taylor had two runs for the game, while Cameron Blankenship and Carter Hayes each had one.
