More than 1,000 children and families, from near and far, are expected to attend the annual spring Easter Eggstravaganza at Darnell Farms March 28, according to Afton Darnell.
The free community event will feature the distribution of over 36,000 eggs, sweets, more than 70 grand prizes and custom tote bags for every child.
“We have many fun events planned throughout the day: kids’ karaoke, dying Easter eggs, games, vendors, card-making, bounce houses… there is just so much,” said Darnell. “It’s just something we can do for the community.”
According to Darnell, the farm is expected to spend approximately $6,000 on candy-filled Easter eggs, $4,000 on individual totes for each participant and $5,000 in prizes.
Last year, the event donated to Cherokee Children’s Home.
Darnell Farms is now offering community partnership opportunities for businesses and individuals interested in supporting the event.
Partnership opportunities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Darnell said she and her family hope to make 2026 the biggest year yet for the event.
