Closing time for filing for the Bryson City Town Board of Aldermen municipal election is nearing. Those wishing to run for the two seats up on the board must file by tomorrow (July 16) at noon.
Two seats are up on the town board. The seats are currently held by Ben King and Janine Crisp.
King has filed for re-election. As of Wednesday morning, nobody else had filed yet.
The fee to file is just $5. Filing is at the Board of Elections Office located on Hwy 19. For questions, call 488-6177. Those filing must be registered voters 18 or older and reside within the town limits.
Also on the current board are Mayor Tom Sutton, and board members Heidi Ramsey-Woodard and Chad Smith, all elected without contest in 2019.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2.
