The Lady Devils added to their 3-1 lead in the 5th inning.  Brayden Taylor walked to start the inning.  Taylor would steal second, then advance to third on a ground out by Griggs.  Savana Smith doubled to score Taylor and put Swain up 4-1.

Hannah Epperson led off the 6th inning with a single.  Amelia Clough and Maddie Spates both coaxed walks to load the bases.  Brayden Taylor walked on five pitches to bring home Epperson.  Both Clough and Spates would score on a ground ball off the bat of Stacey Griggs, which gave Swain a 7-1 cushion.

Stacey Griggs picked up the win, scattering 4 hits and walking 1 and giving up no earned runs.  She struck out 14 on her way to the win.

On Monday, the first place Murphy Bulldogs dealt the Lady Devils a blow to their chances of making the playoffs.  Murphy took an 11-1 decision in six innings.  It marked the most runs given up by Swain all season.  It also left Swain in a tie with Hiwassee Dam for 3rd place in the SMC.

On the day the Lady Devils managed 3 hits, one each from Brayden Taylor, Stacey Griggs and Savana Smith.  It was Taylor who coaxed a bases loaded walk to bring home Ashley Stevenson with Swain’s loan run on the day.
