Lady Devils softball team beats Asheville Lady Cougars 12-0

The Swain County Lady Devils softball team scored big in a 12-0 win over the Asheville Cougars on Monday, March 6.

The game was a non-conference away game in Asheville.

Head Coach Toby Burrell said he was happy with the pitching and defense the team did – though the hitting was sluggish.

“We found ways to generate offense when we needed to,” he said, adding that it was a “good team win” overall.

Maddie Spates led the team in terms of runs, with three total for the game, while Addisyn Jenkins and Carlee Teesateskie had two runs each and numerous other players all got one.

In terms of hits, Teesateskie, Rylee Rawls and Haileigh Woodard all had two a piece, while Haley Teesateskie and Kennedy Anthony got one a piece.

And Rylee Rawls pitching had two hits and 13 strikeouts.

The Lady Devils softball team will play the Asheville Trailblazers in another away game on Monday, March 13.
