Bryson City – Franklin used a huge 30-11 run over the game’s first 8 minutes to build a solid lead over Swain’s varsity boys basketball team on Saturday.  The Panthers eventually took a 91-68 win over Swain.  Franklin used their size and length to force 27 Swain turnovers, scoring 30 points off of Swain turnovers.

Isaiah Collins sparked the Devils with a team high 14 points off the bench.  Collins added 7 rebounds and 3 steals for good measure.  Nick Millsaps added 12 points to go with a game and career high 17 rebounds.  Donnavin Groenewold chipped in 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting.

 

Swain places 4 in double figures in 30 point win

Bryson City – Swain used balanced scoring and easy transition baskets to pull away and post a 79-49 conference win over Rosman on Friday.  The Maroon Devils scored 30 points off of Tiger turnovers and outscored Rosman 26-6 on 2nd chance points in taking the win.  Swain ran out to a 21-6 1st quarter advantage and never looked back, building their lead to as many as 36.

Swain placed four players in double figures.  Senior Nick Millsaps led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Noel Wolf added 16 points on 5 of 13 shooting beyond the arc.  Carter Kirkland finished with 11 while Judaiah Littlejohn had 10.
