On Tuesday, March 15, The Swain High golf team traveled to Old Union in Blairsville, Georgia. The team finished in 2nd place with a team score of 217 behind Murphy’s 161. Leading the Maroon Devils was senior Joe Eagleman, posting a solid 43 and tying for 4th place overall.

Behind him was Freshman Landon Harrison, 56, and freshman Jaden Wade 57. Rounding out the top four scores was sophomore Lucas Sutton with a 61. Senior Connor Driver finished the day with a 62. Jaden, Lucas, and Connor all played in their first golf event in high school.

“We competed at the highest level possible on a course that requires a lot of precision shots and extremely fast greens. I am very proud of the progress of our young team and how they continue to improve every day, in every event, and to prepare for our conference tournament in April,” Coach Josh Crisp said.
