Status quo for municipal election

Jessica Webb editor@thesmokymountaintimes.com   If the 2023 municipal election could be described in a word this early on it would be predictable. Filing closed this past Friday, with the four incumbents filing to run again for their current seats.

The Verkada security system used by Swain County Schools allows a variety of officials to view security feeds for the insides and outsides of the schools, which they hope will help them stave off threats of violence or intruders going forward. Leaders with the schools have been taking measures and outside opinions to eliminate any blind spots for security.
