Dianne Turner, 73, of Bryson City, passed away on January 27, 2020.

She was born in Duplin County, NC, on December 18, 1946 to the late Leffel “LA” Turner and Janie Turner.  She spent most of her career as a cook throughout the Cherokee area where she was known by many people. During this time she also enjoyed working with her dad in the restaurant industry.

She was very active in her community and was involved with the Democratic Party.  She was Baptist by faith and never met a stranger. She was a member of the 1965 graduating class from Swain High School.

She is survived by a daughter, Tabitha Brown (Andre); three grandchildren, Alexis Smith, Billy Bailey, and Hailey Grizzle; one great grandchild, Wizdom McQuillan; a sister Lynn Lambert (Jimmy); a niece, Heather Chambers (Malcolm); a nephew, Mark Barker and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Grizzle.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home.   Jimmy Lambert will officiate.  Burial will follow at Swain Memorial Park.

Andre Brown, Malcolm Chambers, Ryan Chambers, Dawson Chambers, Mark Barker, and Eddie Adams will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 3:00pm prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crisp Funeral Home to help with the final expenses.
