Elmer Vivian Willis, 84, of Bryson City passed away on October 12, 2021.  He was born in Jackson County in 1937, to the late Herman and Ethel Hyatt.

Mr. Willis worked as a pipe fitter in the construction industry and also worked at Cloer’s tire.  He served his country in the Marines.  He enjoyed watching football and baseball sitting in his favorite chair.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Elmer is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Willis; three sons, Charles Willis, David Willis, and Douglas Lindsner; one step son, Keith George; ten grandchildren, Carissa Queen, Raymonda Carver, Charida Pena-Willis, Javian Blair, Hanna Clouse, Austin Potts, Destiny George Bradley, Kieahhah George, Adrianna Herron, and Megan Lindsner; Three great-grandchildren, Harper Ward, Chucky Clouse, and Alena Clouse; four sisters, Lorene Roberts, Viola Day, Isabel Birchfield, and Linda Smith; three sisters-in-law, Loretta Carver, Sandra Orr, and Margaret Wilson; four nieces and nephews, Mitchel Hasley, Aaron Willis, Sheldon Day, and April Adams.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wives, Joyce Melton and Ruth Laws; three sisters, Roberta Adams, Revel McMahan, and Evelyn Sing; two sisters-in-law, Jessie Patterson, and Susie Anderson; one brother, Ken Willis, and a mother-in-law, Louise Adams.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home.  Pastor Tony Cochran officiated.

The family received friends on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 1:00 until 2:00pm prior to the service.
