Ruth Smith Walpole, 90, passed away at home in Largo, FL, January 20, 2020.
She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Nan Smith; husband Robert Walpol; and longtime companion Lloyd Knouse.
Ruth attended Miami Senior High and then went on to Mars Hill College. She later received her Master of Education from the University of Miami.
She lived in Bryson City, NC where she enjoyed teaching school, trout fishing and spending time with family. Ruth later moved to Islamorada, FL where she spent the next 18 years traveling, fishing, and playing Mahjongg.
She is survived by her children Pamela Chance, Karen Nations, and Robert and Sue Walpole; grandchildren Daryl and Bryan Chance, LeeAnne Nations Harris, and Matthew Nations; and seven great-grandchildren.
