The latest addition to free meals and fellowship in Bryson City, Pass It One Café broke bread for the first time on Tuesday, Jan. 28 in the fellowship hall of the Bryson City United Methodist Church. The evening included a delicious meal, dessert and a Christian message followed by an art activity.

Town continues mulling over backflow rules

Bryson City town board members Monday night agreed to continue work on an ordinance that is expected to affect a wide range of local businesses and organizations requiring them to install costly equipment to prevent contaminated backflow from entering the Bryson City water system.

The general election might not be until Nov. 3, but the primary is just around the corner with one stop voting opening Thursday, Feb. 13 and absentee ballots already available. Early voting opens at 8 a.m. and will be available weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
