Annie Mae King Cooper, 78, of the Brush Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 20, 2021. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Hill and Vesta Parton King. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Doyle P.

Derek James Moore

Derek James Moore, 62, of Nanjemoy, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Born on June 5, 1959 in Washington, DC, he is the son of James Moore and Martha Burke.

James Vernon Loftis

James Vernon Loftis, 56, of the Alarka community went to his eternal home Saturday, July 17, 2021. He was the son of Doyle and Shirley Loftis of the Alarka community. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bood and Velma Loftis and James and Dessie McGugan.

Aileen Welch Crisp

Aileen Welch Crisp, 93, beloved wife of late Clinton Pearson Crisp, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2021. Aileen was born in Athens, TN moving to Bryson City as a child. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Bryson City, NC.

Lois King

On Jul 19, 2021 God sent special Angels to take Lois to the new home he had prepared for her. One of her grandchildren said it best... “She has won the Victory”. In the summer of 1960 a friend of Henry and Lois set them up on a blind date, it was a hayride.

Roger Parris

Roger Parris, 66, of Bryson City went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2021. He was born to the late John Parris and Lois Chambers who survives him. He was born and grew up in the Brush Creek Community.  Roger as a faithful member of Cold Springs Baptist Church for many years.

Cynthia Anne Friedrich, 65, of Bryson City, passed away Saturday morning July 3, 2021 at Care Partners Mission Health in Asheville, NC. Cynthia was a native of Texas, born November 10, 1955, to the late Gilbert Friedrich and Rose Marie Dylla.

Jesse James Smith, 72, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord July 1, 2021. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Benny R. Smith and Ila Whitesides Smith.

Marion Mortensen Cooper

Marion Mortensen Cooper, 82, formerly of Bryson City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Hayesville, North Carolina on Sunday, May 23, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frederick Marshelle Cooper, and parents, Walter and Christina Mortensen.
