The Swain County High School Lady Devils soccer team was on the road for two games this week, first traveling to Sylva Thursday to take on the 3A Smoky Mountain Lady Mustangs team.
The Swain High golf team started the season on Tuesday, March 1 at Sequoyah National in Cherokee. Leading the charge was senior Joe Eagleman firing a +4 round of 40.
The Lady Devils soccer team kicked off their season on Monday night by hosting the 3A Franklin Panthers. Going into the game, the Devils had never beaten the Panthers.
It was another devastating night for the Maroon Devils with a mere three-point loss of 69-66 in the last few seconds of the game.
Last Thursday, the Lady Devils traveled to Uwharrie Charter in Asheboro, for the second round of the state playoffs.
