Johnny Ray Stroud passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2022 in a Jackson County health care facility. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Terry Jackson Gentry

Terry Jackson Gentry, 82, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 3, 2022. A native and lifelong resident of Swain County he was the son of the late James and Viola Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Joe Gentry.

Edith “Edie” Marie Smiley Galloway

Edith “Edie” Marie Smiley Galloway, age 96 of Whittier, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Skyland Nursing Home in Sylva NC. Edie was born on February 19, 1926, in Bryson City, to the late Elias and Elsie Bolen Smiley. She was the widow of Lee Henry Galloway.

Virginia Lee “Tommye” Bradley Saunooke

  Virginia Lee “Tommye” Bradley Saunooke, age 82 of Cherokee, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and dearest friends on the full Hunter’s Moon of October 9, 2022 in the Cherokee Indian Hospital.

David Carl Wahlstrom

David Carl Wahlstrom, 79, was born October 7, 1942 and he laid down his tools, after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, on December 31, 2021. He died peacefully in his home, Streamsong, that he loved so much.

Tommy Vaughn Huskey

Tommy Vaughn Huskey, 55, of Bryson City, was carried home unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 25, 2022.  He was the son of Ham & Gail Huskey and the late Connie Lackey Dehart. Tommy was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

Kendra Noel Curtice (age 28) the most loving devoted mother of Lily Louise, Bailee Brooke, and Sadie Sue, and husband Adam Prather. She fought so long and hard, always kept her smile and her brave heart.
