Rachel Mathews Mathis, 67, of the Towstring Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 1, 2022. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Seab and Floy Mathews.

Ruth Lindsay Grindle, 79 of the Wesser Community, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Bryson City Assisted Care surrounded by her family. She was born August 10, 1943 in the Wesser Community of Swain County.

Grayson Wike Mazur

Grayson Wike Mazur, infant son of Michael and Madilyn Wike Mazur went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 19, 2022. He was preceded in death by his papaw, David Hoyle; Pop Pop, John Mazur, Sr.; and Pop Pop Aidan Murphy.

Cora Ella Fuller

Cora Ella Fuller, 62, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2022. A longtime resident of Bryson City, she was the daughter of Wade Mason of Bryson City and the late Lucille Mason.

Josh Light, 25, of Atlanta Ga., passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022. A native of Atlanta he was the son of Gregory Light of Douglasville, GA, and the late Jamie Light.

Larry Eugene Ledford

Larry Eugene Ledford passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 after a short period of progressive illness. He joins his parents, Fred Ledford, Jr. and Bonnie Parris Ledford, in heaven.

Katharyn Martin Howell Monteith, 97, of Bryson City, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Carolina Caring in Newton.  Born February 26, 1925 in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Allen Merritt Howell and Herman Martin Howell.
