Lady Devils close out regular season

The spring regular season is in the books for Lady Devil softball. In the final days of April, Swain faced a busy slate of games, including matchups with Cherokee, Robbinsville and Rosman.

Burrows-Kurr scores 100th goal over Cherokee

Scott Cline Swain High Soccer   The Lady Devils soccer team was on the road on Monday, April 28, taking on the Cherokee Lady Braves. It took less than one minute for the Lady Devils to get on the scoreboard, when senior Karena Cline found senior Mya Burrows-Kurr for her first goal.

Faith Woodard signs with Mars Hill University

Swain County High School proudly announced Faith Woodard’s commitment to continue her track and field career at Mars Hill University Tuesday. “I’d like to say a big thanks to all my family, friends, teammates and coaches,” said Woodard.

Lady Devils take 6-2 win in Highlands

Scott Cline Swain High Soccer   Swain women’s soccer traveled to Highlands on Monday night for a very important conference matchup. For the past three years the Lady Devils have shared the conference championship with the Highlanders.
Senior Nse Uffort dominates shot put and throws a massive 179’3” discus at the All-American Track Classic in Columbia, S.C. April 11. For the second consecutive meet, Uffort was named Throws MVP.

Scott Cline   The Lady Devils soccer team hosted the Blue Ridge Bobcats on Thursday, April 3. The first 33 minutes saw the Lady Devils taking a lot of shots and Blue Ridge playing defense, rarely moving the ball past midfield.

Rawls Perfect vs. Andrews

Lady Devils pitcher Rylee Rawls hurled her second perfect game of the year in a 13-0 win over Andrews Tuesday, April 1, before Swain beat the Wildcats 19-1 in the second game to sweep the series in a double-header played at Swain.

Scott Cline On Monday the Swain High Lady Devils Soccer Team traveled to Asheville to take on the private school Asheville School Blues. The first half showed  a lot of defense with Swain getting on the scoreboard with 3 minutes left in the half.
