Swain Cross Country ranked 1st in state at season start

Hannah Styles hstyles@thesmokymountaintimes.com   Last Wednesday, Swain’s cross-country team traveled to Cherokee County to Tri-County Community College to compete in the Jaguar Jungle Run. Teams competing included Swain, Tri-County Early College, Murphy, Hayesville, Cherokee and Robbinsville.

The Swain High men’s soccer team hosted 3A Smoky Mountain High School Mustangs on Wednesday night. Seven minutes into the game senior Landon Matz broke away from 60 yards out and scored on the Mustang goalkeeper.
