The Swain High soccer team hosted the Highlands Highlanders on Monday night in a tough conference matchup. The Highlanders came into the game undefeated in conference play tied for first place with Blue Ridge and one game ahead of the Maroon Devils.

Swain band gets top 4 performance

Marching Maroon Devil Band got top 4 performance out of all classifications at the Enka Land of Sky Band Competition this past Saturday. The event included bands from 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A schools. Swain placed in music, percussion, and drum major categories.

Hannah Styles hstyles@thesmokymountaintimes.com   The Swain County Lady Devils volleyball team has been on a winning streak with four back-to-back wins in the past week. Last Wednesday Swain traveled to Hiwassee Dam for a non-conference game, where the Lady Devils brought home a 3-2 win.
