Maroon Devils Sports Schedule Changes

Due to Covid and other unforeseen circumstances Swain and rival schools have made several schedule changes affecting Swain this season. These are the updates we have so far. JV Football This week’s game will now be played this Saturday, October 2nd at 5 p.m.

Hannah Styles hstyles@thesmokymountaintimes.com Last Thursday, Swain County High varsity boys soccer team hosted the Asheville Trailblazers. In the first five minutes of the game, the Trailblazers received a penalty kick, from a handball in the box by Swain.

Hannah Styles hstyles@thesmokymountaintimes.com On Thursday, the Lady Devils hosted Andrews at home playing at an earlier time than usual due to the cancellation of the JV game. Swain won the first set putting up a strong fight but lost the next three, bringing Andrews to a 3-1 win.

Freshman Arizona Blankenship won her first varsity meet and beat the 30 year record, set by Wendy Trehern (Meyers) in 1990.
