Alvin Eugene Gerding of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on November 27, 2021 of heart failure. Alvin spent his entire career as a part of Jacksonville’s growth in real estate.  Alvin loved spending time fishing, gardening and visiting with his many friends.

Harry E. Wood

Harry E. Wood, 72 of Whittier, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Harry had a passion for driving race cars.  He had many accomplishments racing at Smoky Mountain Raceway.  Harry had a lot of friends he made throughout his lifetime.

Hilda Lindsay Stanberry, formerly of Swain Co, NC, passed away November 10, 2021 at her son’s home in Aiken, S.C. Hilda was born August 8, 1926 in Almond, Swain County, NC, to John and Fannie Lindsay. Most of her life was in Swain Co.

J D Estes, 88, of Whittier went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 17, 2021. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Sam and Birdie Brooks Estes. He was a member of Conley’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran.

Christopher (“Chris”) Matthew Wiggins, beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Westwego, Louisiana. Chris was greeted in Heaven by his maternal grandparents, Maggie Alice Crisp and husband, Dr.

William Dean Smith (Deano Cappuccino), 59, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 11, 2021. A native of Swain County he was the son of the late John and Lois Smith.

Lyndon Monteith

Lyndon Monteith, 78, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 5, 2021. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Dillard and Nellie Jones Monteith. He was a US Air Force Veteran having served in Vietnam.

Ann Cole Llewellyn

Ann Cole Llewellyn passed away on October 29, 2021 peacefully in her sleep. She will always be loved by her husband John and her pet, Snitz. Ann was born in Bryson City, N.C., attended Swain County High School and Maryville College.

Bruce Elliott Pioth

Bruce Elliott Pioth of Bryson City, NC went to live in his forever home November 2, 2021. He will join his parents, Andrew and Abigail Pioth and his brother Robert (Bob) Pioth in heaven. Bruce was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 13, 1957.

Ruby Pauline Jones, born August 27, 1937 was called home to be with her most kind and gracious Lord and Savior on November 1, 2021. “Oh, what a friend she had in Jesus.” She lived her life as a shining example of a virtuous woman for all who had the privilege of her company.
