Ernest Nations, 61, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 16, 2021 in a Jackson County Hospital. A lifelong resident of Bryson City, he was the son of the late Rev. Hoover and Helen Ross Nations; brother, Clifford Nations, and infant son, Shawn Nations all of Bryson City.

Cinda Justine Taylor

Cinda Justine Taylor, 33, of Cherokee, loving mother whose kids meant everything to her, took her journey to Heaven on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of Chuck Taylor and Mystical Parker both of Cherokee.

John E. Love, 96, of Andrews passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 in a Bryson City care facility. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews.

Jay Hill Breedlove

Jay Hill Breedlove (1944 – 2021) stated in his 1962 Swain County High School Year Book that his life’s ambition was to “have a happy life.” While every life has its ups and downs and has its share of tragedies, it can be stated that Mr. Breedlove’s life was largely happy.

Deborah Jean Bowen

Deborah Jean Bowen, age 69, passed away on August 9, 2021, at her home in Almond, NC. Deborah (Debbie) retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years working in Almond, Whittier and the surrounding communities. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and a friend to many.

Tommy Wayne Cody, 89, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Matilda Hughes Cody. He was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.

Donnie Dixon

Donnie Dixon, 78, of Bryson City passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Von and Myrtle Ryder Dixon. He was a Swain County Commissioner for 8 years and a member of Arlington Baptist Church.
