Alvin Massey, 76, of Whittier passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021. A native of Chester, SC, he was born on March 24, 1945, to the late Flora Mae Massey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Massey, children, Vickie Carpenter and Eugene Massey and sister in law, Becky Ledford.

David “Sid” Haney

David “Sid” Haney, 73, of the Aquone Community passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Mountain View Manor in Bryson City, NC. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Willa Mae Haney.

Ethel Simonds Breedlove

Ethel Simonds Breedlove, 87, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at her residence in the Needmore Community of Swain County. She was the daughter of the late Rev. James and Nola Simonds. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Norman Breedlove.

Ronnie Hutchins, 72, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 21, 2021 at Haywood Nursing and Rehab. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Clinton Roosevelt and Faye Shook Hutchins.

Dover Cabe

Dover Cordell Cabe, age 76, of Sylva, NC, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Judy Sapp Cabe and the son of the late Cordell and Lizzie Cabe. He was retired from Wrenn Handling.

Betty Davis Howell

Betty Davis Howell, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 29th, 2021 at Dominion Assisted Living in Johnson City, TN with her family by her side. Betty was born September 7, 1930 in Letcher, KY to Ocie Onalee (Pridemore) Davis and William Jennings Bryant Davis.

Tinsa Lambert Sanders

Tinsa Lambert Sanders, 90, of the Towstring Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 13, 2021. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Cora Bradley Lambert and wife of the late Winford Sanders. She was a member of Towstring Baptist Church.

Leona Marie Hughes-Shipman

Leona Marie Hughes-Shipman, 81, of Bryson City passed away on May 3, 2021.  She was born in Jackson County on November 29, 1939 to the late Jerry Edward and Nancy Pauline Byrd. Leona worked at Swain County Hospital before moving to work at Western Carolina Digestive Consultants.
