Ancil Crutchfield

Ancil Crutchfield, 84, of the Towstring Community went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 1, 2021 peacefully at his residence. He was a member and Sunday School Teacher at Towstring Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Sam Crutchfield and 12 brothers and sisters.

Ronnie Joe Styles

Ronnie Joe Styles, 64, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 26, 2021. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Frank Styles and Martha Mae Styles Jenkins.

Carolyn Joan Hyatt

Carolyn Joan Hyatt, 84, of the Governors Island Community, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 23, 2021. A native of Jackson County, NC and longtime resident of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Oneita Hall Turpin.

Roberta Dunlap Sumpter

August 17, 1940-February 16, 2021   Robyn was born in Mills River, NC to Robert and Rhonda Warlick Dunlap. She was older sister to Leone Dunlap McLester (Keith) of Rockingham, NC.

Doris Orr Carson

Doris Orr Carson “Grandma Tody” 88 of Bryson City, left this walk of life early Monday morning on February 22, 2021, of natural causes after a period of declining health.  She was surrounded by her loving family until the end.

Sandra Roberson Bradshaw

Sandra Roberson Bradshaw, 76, of the Tobacco Branch Community and formerly of Pelzer SC, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday February 16, 2021. A native of Pelzer SC and longtime resident of Graham County, NC she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Roberson.

Charles Orris Hughes

Charles Orris Hughes, 82, of Bryson City went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2021.   Mr. Hughes was born in Swain County on April 16, 1939 to the late Winford and Mae Hughes.   He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee.

John Authur Monteith Jr.

John Authur Monteith Jr., 89, passed away in Port Saint Lucie, Florida while visiting his winter home.  Mr. Monteith was born on November 27, 1931 on Forney Creek to the late John and Mary Monteith.

Furman Douglas Smith-Crowe

Furman Douglas Smith-Crowe, 71 of Cherokee, NC passed December 18, 2020 after battling illness for the past several months.  He was born March 19, 1949 in Cherokee, NC.  He was a preacher, artist, accomplished stone and wood carver and musician.

Dovi Queen

Dovi Queen, 26, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 7, 2021. She was the daughter of Ned Daniel and Stephanie Welch. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gladys Roback; grandfather, Owen Smoker, Jr.
