Judy Seay Monteith, 80, of Suwanee, GA passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 after years of battling dementia. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Newell Seay.

Patrick Stewart Halverson

Patrick Stewart Halverson, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home in San Diego, CA on Friday, January 15th. Pat’s roots in Swain County extend back to his youth having been raised by his aunt and uncle Johnnie and Genevieve Becker of the Alarka community.

Frank Edward Sutton

Frank Edward Sutton, age 76, of Bryson City, passed away January 16, 2021. Ed was born in Haywood County, NC to the late Henry Sutton and Evelyn Gentry Sutton Lowe. Ed retired from Dayco after 37 years and he also ran a personal lawn care service for 20 years.

Sandra Mae Howell

Sandra Mae Howell, 75, of Bryson City went home to Heaven on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born at Angel Hospital  to the late William Cowan Wikle and Edna Maney Wikle. They lived at Smokemont, NC until it was annexed into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Treska Diane Hatton Crisp

Treska Diane Hatton Crisp, 71, of Bryson City, formerly of Yulee, FL went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 21, 2021. A native of Florida, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Irby and Essie Parker Hatton.

Hugh Jasper Bradley (H.J.)

Hugh Jasper Bradley (H.J.) passed away peacefully at Cherokee Indian Hospital January 21, 2021, after an extended illness. He was born July 25, 1935 to the late John and Pearl Bradley. His grandparents were Morgan and Clarenda.

Ed Spear

Former Bryson City resident Ed Spear, 82, passed away peacefully in Albuquerque New Mexico on Dec. 24, 2020. Carlton Edmund Spear was born on May 24th, 1938 in Altadena California.  Ed served in the United States Navy as a radioman.

Pearl Jones Snyder

Pearl Jones Snyder, 85, of Charlotte, NC, passed away January 10, 2021. A native of Bryson City, she was the daughter of the late Wheeler and Evie Jones of the Alarka community. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

George Harvey Carson “Paw”

George Harvey Carson “Paw”, 71, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 17, 2021. A lifelong resident of Swain County, he was the son of the late Ed and Mildred Wiggins Carson and husband of the late Brenda Cabe Carson.

Debra Seay Colville

Debra Lynn (Debbie) Seay Colville, 66, of Bryson City passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, at Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde after a period of declining health. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late June Evelyn Thomas and Robert Hugh Seay.
